Police 24 - police reform

I led the the Afghanistan Police 2024 which was a multinational project aimed at revamping, rebranding and rebuilding the Afghanistan National Police and guiding it from a paramilitary force to a protection and law enforcement one with 22 LOTFA members as well as the leadership of the Resolute Support Mission and the Ministry of Interior of Afghanistan. Since 2002, Afghanistan National Police was trained by various nations using various methods of training and law enforcement that were either too focused on warfighting or not in-tune with the contextual nuances of the Afghan society and this had brought forth a police force that not only failed to perform its lawfully mandated duties but also created a police culture that led to corruption, underdevelopment and absence of law enforcement across the country. The project was to start at the training academy where the entire curriculum was to be revised to meet the requirements of essential law enforcement, followed by the revamping of the Afghanistan National Police into metropolitan and provincial police receiving different set of trainings at the academy before deployment. This also called for allocating for further resources for policing in Afghanistan and establishing better relations with community and an improved image of police across Afghanistan, all the while ensuring that being a part of the national police force is a matter of hard work and pride.

police support center

In 2020, we set up the Police Support Center within the Afghan Ministry of Interior as a one-stop-shop for all police families seeking support services. The Center cut bureaucracy and corruption and provided legal, educational, health, financial and mental health services to all police personnel and their families as well as processing requests of support and other documentation.

police memorial

The first ever police memorial wall was built in remembrance of the fallen Afghan national police's fallen heroes who had sacrificed their lives and futures fighting extremism and terrorism in Afghanistan. Each fallen police was signified with a star and the details of their fall to ensure that the ANP forces knew what they were fighting for which was a better Afghanistan.

Afghanistan youth policy

As the founder of Afghanistan Youth Network since 2012, we were the lead organization in developing and disseminating the Afghanistan National Youth Policy. This policy was the first of its kind and was proudly presented in the 2013 International Youth Policy Conference in Baku, Azerbaijan and later endoresed by the Vice President of Afghanistan.
